Hello, I’m Sydney

I’m an Art & Expressive Arts Therapist and Theatre Artist

All of You is Welcome Here

The Starting Line

Understanding yourself and uncovering trauma is tough. Healing is nonlinear and everyone is entitled to process and cope with their lives uniquely; there is no one right way. I work alongside clients as a therapeutic, artistic collaborator to empower clients to find their right way.

Sydney is now accepting new clients.

“Not every story has a happy ending, … but the discoveries of science, the teachings of the heart, and the revelations of the soul all assure us that no human being is ever beyond redemption. The possibility of renewal exists so long as life exists. How to support that possibility in others and in ourselves is the ultimate question.”

— Dr. Gabor Mate, In The Realm of Hungry Ghosts: Close Encounters with Addiction

What is Art Therapy?

Art therapy is a psychotherapy approach that invites in artistic materials and concepts to process overwhelming or difficult thoughts, emotions, and sensations.

The process of art therapy can offer grounding and regulation to the traditional therapeutic process.  Additionally, this method can act as a safe container to strengthen a mindfulness practice when working with trauma, and hard to look at topics. Art therapy can nourish an individual’s sense of authenticity, sustain self-esteem, and expand the inner world.

What is Expressive Arts Therapy?

Expressive Arts Therapy is an experiential process that integrates all creative expressions. Visual arts, music, dance, voice, movement, creative writing, and drama can all be utilized to facilitate self-inquiry and healing. This method supports moving what is unconscious to the conscious and can revive the joyful artist within.

Can I attend Art Therapy without making art?

Definitely! There are many cognitive ways to access the creative process in order to better understand your story.
